First Day of School

J was all decked out in Star Wars today, by his choosing. Since it was a pretty morning, we walked to his school and fed the ducks along the way. I also got this video of him walking to the building. He was not nervous at all and once we got to the classroom he took off. He did not even want to turn around and wave goodbye to me! The nerve. Does he know how much I went through to have him? Harrumph!!! Oh, how I miss him already. I can't wait to go pick him up and find out about his first day.
By the way, that is not me crying in the video- although I wanted to. :)
Did you notice the sad music? I'd never heard the last two songs, but the titles were enough for me. Lamenting the loss of my little punk nugget...

Goodbye, Hello

Last night I kissed "good night" to my sweet boy, J. Just 12 hours later, I said "good morning" to my preschooler! How can this be?
I let him pick out his breakfast and he wanted pancakes and bacon. As usual, he did not eat much and I had to rush him. (The green tongue is from his popsicle.)

Bed Head Baby

These are pictures of E after a nap. We like to make fun of her crazy hair and you can definitely see why.

Photo Op

J has to take a picture of his family to preschool next week, but we did not have a recent one. So, Mandie took one of us last night. Thank you, Mandie!! Please ignore the toddler coupe in the background.

Happy Anniversary

These are photos from our wedding album. Today is our 9th anniversary! I was commenting to Kris how young we look and he said, "we were."

Meet and Greet

We went to J's preschool this morning for the meet-and-greet. He met his teachers, Ms. P and Ms. B. We went around to all of the classrooms and even played on the playground a few minutes. He met three new friends from his class. He told me that he is excited about school. I hope that I am okay Monday morning dropping him off for the very first time; the last thing that I want to do is upset him. If someone would have told me that I would be going through separation anxiety for preschool five years ago- I would not have believed them. I am as excited for him as I am sad for me.

My Baby is Going to School!!!

J will be starting preschool in a little over 2 weeks. This is bittersweet for me since he has been home with me since his birth. While I know that social interaction is healthy and normal, I will miss the little guy.
The other day, he pointed out a "smoke-arette" on the ground. He is so cute. He also likes to point out that they are very bad for you and can kill you. I don't know where he learned about them, but his mind is a sponge. I am waiting for the day that he takes it upon himself to "educate" a smoking stranger. You can be sure that when (not if) that happens, I will blog about my embarrassment!
Right now, he is obsessed with Star Wars and collecting ALL of the figures. Why, oh why, are there so many of them?
By the way, J is our guest DJ, the music was selected by him this month. :) Please note that "I Like To Move It" and "Big N Chunky" are from the cartoon movie Madagascar 2.

18 Months and Counting

Miss E is now 18 months old and so much fun. She loves to laugh and feel like a big girl. You can see a bit of her personality in these photos.

Ode to a Twinkie

A very sad thing happened the other day; I realized that J had never had a Twinkie. How can this be? I am still pondering the possibilities. I knew that I had to rectify the situation immediately. Reflect upon his faces of uncertainty, exploration, joy and jubilation. It is good to be J.

Just Ducky

J likes to feed the ducks and one will actually eat from your hand. While this freaks me out, it delights J. The first time that it came up to him, I said "Oh, no! RUN- it is going to bite you." (I have issues, you'll have to forgive me.) J just looked at me and said "Ducks don't have teeth, Mommy." I knew that. I did. Honest. But it could still hurt! And I am sticking by that nugget of truth. Anyway, he was not deterred one little bit. If you listen carefully, the duck actually "talks" back to us. She has the coloring of a hen, so he refers to her as the "hen-duck." E is in the background, in her stroller, and can be heard squealing in excitement.
