Easter Day

Easter day was very busy for us. I woke the kiddos up and told them that the Easter Bunny came. They were very excited to see what he left them. After they looked through their baskets, they had an egg hunt here in the living room. J found the Grand Egg and Princess E flipped her diva switch and flopped onto the floor in a fit of jealousy. It was great, we caught all the drama on video and will no doubt show this footage to her over and over as she gets older.

We went to church and were so happy that MyMy and Papa came with us. After breakfast, there was an egg hunt and they got a massive amount of candy. It is always fun to see all of the kids dressed up in their Easter best.

After church we headed to MyMy's house for some BBQ- not traditional, but very delicious! She made the kiddos some baskets and we had yet another egg hunt! Wow, that was four hunts in three days- I am tired just thinking about it.

After MyMy's house, we went to Nonni's house and she had baskets for them as well. We even forced Uncle Rocky to sing to us, which Miss E just L.O.V.E.S. Daddy had to leave the festivities early to go to work, but in the end it did not matter since he got a flat tire and barely made it home. :(

All in all, it was a great day!

An Egg-celent Time

Daddy and the little people dyed their Easter eggs tonight. I think that it will shock no one that they used a Star Wars kit.

Easter Cookies

It is the day before Easter, so naturally we made our famous (not really- but we like 'em) butter cookies. I absolutely L.O.V.E. Miss E's face in the first picture where she is looking at the chilled dough. I think this is where she is realizing just how much work cookies from scratch are! ha ha She did help me the entire process, but got a little bored in the cutting phase. As for the decorating portion, a girl can never use too many sprinkles. This is probably the prettiest batch of cookies that we have ever made. Yay!

Ape's Annual Egg Hunt

We went to Mrs. April's house for her annual egg hunt on Good Friday. Cookie decorating, hunting eggs, eating pizza, swimming in the pool, and hanging out with friends- what could be better than that? Oh yeah, I forgot- devouring the candy! Yum. I am so grateful for my girls- not only have we shared over 20 years of memories (and secrets!) but now our kids are growing up together. The old adage is so very true... friends are the family that you choose. Happy Easter!

Pineapple People

My little people made pineapple upside-down cakes today. The fresh pineapple in the produce section was talking to me this morning. Naturally, we feasted on the pineapple and maraschino cherries as we assembled the cakes. YUM!

Pantry Predators

My J knows that I do not like bugs, lizards, frogs, etc. He knows that I really, really, really don't like them in the house. That is why he has been hiding his VERY REALISTIC-LOOKING toy lizards around the house for years now. He thinks that it is hilarious when I scream. To be honest, it is pretty funny. Well, Miss E has learned from her brother and has taken things to a whole new level. The first thing I noticed was the lizard on the top shelf, it startled me for only a split second. (No scream- my years of training have paid off. ha ha) I did laugh when I saw the two miniature alligators on the bottom shelf. Obviously, my pantry is a dangerous place! What was surprising to me was that my funny little girl has now taken to hiding that ridiculous lizard in my fridge. I did gasp (a little) when I saw him there. I was not expecting that! Is there no place safe in this house?!?! I took pictures just to show everyday dangers that I face. ;)

Easter Pictures

We took Easter pictures with Eta's bunny today! A real live bunny. He is sooooo cute and the nuggets went nuts when she took him out of the cage. Sweet little cuddler has amazing red eyes. Thank you, Eta for spending your day off with us and sharing your sweet bunny... we love you!!!!

April Fools Prank

My mistake was leaving my cell phone unattended. Yeah, Mr. Man decided that it would be funny to chage several of the names (people I talk to/text the most) to Fred. I went to make a call and hit M for Monica. There were no M's. What? That did not make sense because I have several people with M names in my phone. He saw my perplexed look and started laughing. He told me to look under F. Why would I do that??? Hmm... all of a sudden I knew A LOT of Freds. At least he kept everyone's last name. If you are reading this, chances are that you were a Fred. :) In addition to changing the names to Fred and deleting ALL of my lists (missed calls, recent calls, etc) he changed his name to Mr. T. While that is funny by itself, then he sent me a text... this is what I saw on my phone: From: Mr. T "I pity the fool that leaves her phone unattended!" That was funny!

Sweet Girl

Miss E has taken to calling me "darling." I walked out of the room for a few minutes and when I came back, she rubbed my face and said "I missed you, darling." Aww. A few days later we were talking about letters. I asked her "Do you know what 'butterfly' starts with?" She replied, "A cocoon!" Um, not what I was looking for, but how can you disagree with that?

Funny Boy

J and I were discussing Mario (he is obsessed with all things Mario now.) He asked, "Why does the raccoon tail make Mario fly?" I told him "I don't know; that does not make any sense to me, either. Have you ever seen a flying raccoon?" He giggled, "No." Being in a silly mood, I said "I know that we have not finished our science book yet, but we have definitely not read about any flying raccoons." While laughing he mused "Maybe it is on the last page."
