Bath time!

Sweet little Ev LOVED his first bath! He did not cry one time and seemed genuinely content.

Hopefully bath time will be a time of great joy throughout his babyhood.

Naturally, all of Team Williams had to get involved and witness this exciting event!

Now that he is home, we are going to celebrate all of the fun things that go along with welcoming a newborn into a family.

And then there were five. 

Our sweet boy, Ev, was born in May and following in the tiny footsteps of his sister, he had trouble breathing.  Official diagnosis: Severe Respiratory Distress.  Heartbreaking words to hear.  Looking at him in the NICU was torture.  We could not hold him or talk to him because he had a "minimal stimulation" restriction from his doctors.  Here are a few pitures from his first 10 days of life.  In the first one, he has a C-Pap but they had to take it off because he was just too big for it and it was hurting his nose.

This picture is hard because I see both his arterial line and his I-V.  They wrapped up his hands like a mummy so he could not pull them out.  This little guy was known to pull out his cannula- notice that it is taped to his nose.

In the next picture, you can see 3 things that made me smile.  First, he was allowed one stuffed animal and the kids picked out the cute monkey (back, right side of photo) for him.  His NICU nurse, Fran, told me a story about this monkey.  One day another nurse looked over and saw something with eyes flying around Ev's crib.  She screamed at Fran and told her to "go check your baby!"  She thought something alive was loose in there.  When Fran got over to him, she saw that Ev was heartily flinging it back and forth.  She laughed so hard.  In addition to this stuffed animal, he was allowed to have artwork from his siblings.  They were each given an index card and you can see their artwork taped to the side of his crib, below.

Lemon Cakelets

After a strenuous morning at the park, a princess just needs to have a tea party.  Because, obviously!  She wanted to make cake pops.  Unfortunately, we used a box mix and it just did not puff up like the kinds we make from scratch.  So... we ended up making cakelets.  Not as pretty, but just as tasty.  Our tea party did not suffer in the least.

Park Time

I've been watching my blood pressure which means doing lots of nothing.  Boring! So, this morning, Daddy and I took the nuggets to the park to get out some energy.

We Won!!

We won a chocolate chip cookie cake from Publix last week!  We were super excited and it was delicious.  It is true that it is the little things in life.

Easter Afternoon

We went to MyMy and Papa's house Easter afternoon for BBQ and another egg hunt.  For those counting, yes- this was our fourth hunt in three days!  These kids are going to be pros. Here they are posing with their cousin Em.

We had a wonderful Easter day with our family and friends!

Easter Morning

The kids were very excited to see that the Easter Bunny came!  For some reason there was a lot of fear that he was going to miss our house this year.

After baskets & an indoor egg hunt at home, we went to church for breakfast and another egg hunt. Believe it or not, J was wearing Daddy's Easter suit from 1984 (I think.)  Nanny saved it all these years and brought it down to us.

Daddy's shirt is about the same color as the sky- it was a gorgeous Easter morning!

The most important part of any egg hunt- checking your loot.  Oh man, we have so much candy in this house it is not even funny.  It is a very good thing that mama does not have gestational diabetes.

An Egg-cellent Time

Daddy and the little people colored eggs on Saturday night. J was too big to use stickers so he stuck with the Star Wars kit exclusively. 

E was not too big for stickers and she used up every single one.

At some point after this, the boys mastered creating a pretty purple color.

I think that they had fun and now I have to figure out what to do with all of these boiled eggs!!!

Cookie Time

We decided to make a BIG batch of cookies for our church's Easter breakfast and for our family.  This is always a lot of work and takes many hours.  I try to let the kids do as much as possible without becoming too much of a control freak.  I don't know that I always succeed in this, but I do try and make it fun for them.  We all know that the best part is eating them!!
