Mouse Ears

I was at the computer when the kids came up and modeled their awesome mouse ears for me. Naturally, I seized the moment and snapped a few pics of them goofing off. Some random silliness
for your Thursday afternoon. :)

Kindergarten

Today was our very first day of home schooling! J officially started Kindergarten at 9:01 am. (We were 1 minute late.) I am excited and nervous about this new adventure!

Breakfast

Before we came home from our vacation, we stopped to have breakfast with a few characters. We saw Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Donald Duck. The first picture is E dressed up as Minnie Mouse and anxiously awaiting to go into breakfast area. She was so excited about this and is still talking about it. The kids were loving up on Goofy and Daddy's favorite is Donald Duck so he wanted to get his picture taken with him. It is always fun to watch their faces as the characters come around the room~ the anticipation is priceless. I had to snap a pic of E waving good-bye to Minnie Mouse. Aww.

Ten Years Later...

We just celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary! We took a family vacation in Orlando for the week and had a blast. Being mid-August, we had no desire to melt at a theme park- we'll do that trip later in the year.

Our hotel had several pools and hot tubs and naturally the kids wanted to explore them all. The water slide was a hit with everyone other than J- the three of us went over and over. We also did Downtown Disney and J was totally psyched about the Lego store- he went straight to pick out some Star Wars legos.

The hotel had lots of ducks and gigantic turtles for us to feed. There were so many cute little ducklings and they would walk right up to you. Much to their delight, Daddy caught one (several times) so the kiddos could pet it. Mama duck was not so pleased and was doing her best to scare him away. J summarized this quickly by saying, "She's a duck, we are not afraid of her!" Even though she was hissing and jumping at him, J laughed at her and did not move. He gets that from Daddy, I move when something hisses at me.

Happy Anniversary, K ~~~ ten years goes by fast... here's to fifty more!!!!

Work it, baby!

Miss E is quite conscious of her body and makes a point to work out several times a week. She insists upon coming outside with me and Daddy for our workouts and likes to be included. Thanks to Daddy's training, she's even got the breathing down. She used to count my reps for me and she would say, "One, two, three, nine!" That is surely my favorite way to count when it comes to lifting weights. It is not as nice now that she has her numbers down and I actually have to do reps four through eight. She is so fun!

Her Hairbow Highness

Miss E just LOVES her hairbows! She wants her hair done every day and she will review my work in the mirror to ensure that she is "pretty." In the top picture you can see how she looks most days- hair done with one, maybe two, bows. What happens when Eta (her teenage BFF) comes over? The girls went crazy and had a blast- E really thought that she was something special that day. Since then she has been asking for more than one hairbow, but I will save this little slice of excess for Eta. Most of these bows (the pretty ones anyway) were made by Linzie. I was trying to post a link to her ETSY shop and I could not get it to work, but if you are interested in buying some I will give you her information. Thanks, Linzie- YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!!

West Palm Beach trip

Me and the nuggets went down to West Palm Beach last week to spend some time with my cousin and her family. We had so much fun swimming, going to the parks, and just hanging out. It is great that the kids have cousins their age to grow up with. The girls were so sweet and curious about everything while the boys were adventurous and active. Thank you so much for having us, we can't wait to see you all again! :) We love you!!

4th Fun

We invited MyMy & Papa over for dinner on the 4th and then we all went to see the fireworks. The bed of Papa's truck makes an excellent playpen. Knowing that we love some sugar, they brought cupcakes! Yum.

Our Little Countess

E has been working on recognizing her numbers and has mastered 1-10; here she is demonstrating her mad skills. She loves to tell me about the numbers that she sees all around- especially when we go shopping. As usual, her enthusiasm is contagious.

Cousins

My cousin Steve and his family had lunch with us this past weekend- we were so very excited to see them. Here are 2 family pictures, I love the superhero pose his son is making in the second one.
